More service from BERU for retail stores and workshops
Auto parts specialist BERU has made its spare parts catalog freely available on the Internet also for do-it-yourselfers.
(Ludwigsburg/Germany) Time is money, and that´s just as true in workshops as it is in retail stores. That´s why there´s nothing quite as irritating as long involved searching for required spare parts. But now there´s no need to do that. You can visit www.beru.com/productfinder on the Internet and go directly to the BERU Product Finder, which lists more than 3,600 items available for delivery. Using the system is as easy as child´s play: simply enter the vehicle code and model and a list immediately appears on the screen showing what spare parts are available for the vehicle in question from the extensive range of BERU products. From spark plugs for the current Audi A2 TDI, a lambda probe for a five-year old BMW 3 Series or glow plugs, ignition cables plus a distributor cap and rotor for an old Porsche 928 just a few mouse clicks will take you to a description of the product and its order num-ber. If you donĒt have the code numbers handy, you can browse through the manufacturers database for the right type of vehicle. There are even BERU parts to fit classic cars like a DKW Meisterklasse built in 1950. In this case, the database finds spark plugs and ignition coils.
The BERU Product Finder is available right now for all Internet users. There´s a clear notice for do-it-yourselfers that this up-to-date service is of course no replacement for qualified advice from a specialist dealer or workshop. There´s also an e-mail address pointing the potential customer in the direction of the nearest specialist dealer.
Just as convenient to use, but even more extensive and complex, is the complete BERU catalog on CD, which also features practical order forms. Here too, just a few mouse clicks are all it takes to find the parts you need. Product illustrations help to identify parts definitively in doubtful cases, and a third-party manufacturer decoder makes it easy to use BERU parts instead of those of other manufacturers. The shopping basket feature makes it easy to put together large parts orders effortlessly and clearly. The Tec-Doc-based CD can be installed however the user wants: as a single-station version with all data on the computer or in a space-saving minimum version in which the CD has to be in the CD drive for data query. A fileserver installation for an Intranet is also possible. All three versions offer yet another convenience: If one user always wants to start in the engines area while an-other prefers to go directly to vehicle access, they can both have it their way by creating different user profiles.
The CD is available free of charge from Thomas Wasserbäch Phone: +49 7141-132-990, Fax: -385, e-mail: thomas.wasserbaech@beru.de ). He can also provide two more aids for faster access to information about BERU products, and theyĒre free too a new edition of the ignition parts catalog. It contains an expanded list of ignition coils and the lighting dynamo controllers. Also the high-voltage connection system catalog has been throughly revised with single ignition leads and complete ignition lead sets as well as adaptors and tools for the workshop. This catalogs are useful for daily work in a workshop.
