Glow Plug with Wire Filament as Heater Element (Type GD)

In older diesel vehicles, such as tractors, tow trucks and construction machines, as well as in stationary engines, glow plugs with a wire filament (Type GD) are used. The wire filament of the glow plug acts as the heating element.
